According to statistics from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), global production of crude steel in October this year amounted to 147.3 million tons, unchanged from last year.
Among them, Asian crude steel production reached 107.3 million tons, an increase of 5.8% year on year, of which China's production amounted to 79.8 million tons, an increase of 11% year on year. Crude steel production in the EU-27 was 11.3 million tonnes, down 17.5% year on year.
Meanwhile, crude steel production in North America was 9.2 million tons, down 7.7% year on year; Production in South America was 3.7 million tonnes, down 3.2% year on year. Crude steel production in Africa rose 2.3% year on year to 1.4 million tons, while production in the Middle East rose 6.7% year on year to 4 million tons.
In the first ten months of this year, global crude steel production fell 3.9% year on year to 1.55 billion tonnes.
