According to statistics from the European Steel Association (EUROFER), in October crude steel production in Europe increased by 5.5% compared to the previous month, but fell by 17% compared to the same period last year and amounted to about 15.03 million tons.
In the first ten months, crude steel production in Europe amounted to 155 million tonnes, down 9.3% from the same month last year. Among them, Germany, the largest steel producer in Europe, produced 3.1 million tons of crude steel, down 14% from last year. Energy costs and inflation have remained high since March, so demand from downstream buyers has been low.
