Minister of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan Kanat Sharlapaev took part in the opening of the national pavilion at the International Convention of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) 2024 in Toronto, the department’s press service reports.
The PDAC Conference, the leading international event in mineral exploration and development, annually attracts thousands of participants, including experts, investors and representatives of mining companies from around the world. Since its inception in 1932, PDAC has been a platform for sharing knowledge, showcasing innovation and shaping the future of the industry.
During the opening ceremony, Sharlapaev emphasized the strategic importance of Kazakhstan’s participation in PDAC-2024.
“Our consistent presence at PDAC for the second year underscores our strong commitment to integrating into the global geological community and attracting foreign investment into our domestic mining sector,” he said.
The National Pavilion of Kazakhstan represents the leading achievements and projects of leading Kazakhstan companies, including ERG, Tau-Ken Samruk, Kazakhmys, GreyWolf and KazakhGeology. The exhibition demonstrates the innovative potential and capabilities of Kazakhstan in the mining industry, emphasizing the openness of the Kazakh market to international cooperation and new technologies.
Sharlapaev also emphasized the importance of Kazakhstan’s participation in PDAC-2024 within the framework of the Concept for the Development of the Geological Industry for 2023-2027, confirming its readiness to expand bilateral and multilateral partnerships in this area.
